Leverage and Extend our Integrated
IoT Ecosystem to Stay Operational and Improve Efficiency

Worry-Free Transfer of Valuable IoT Data to the Cloud

Features and Benefits

Sense data affecting crop growth rate and quality within harsh agricultural environments (e.g. temperature, humidity, soil pH and moisture, etc.). Remotely track crop conditions to make decisions affecting production in real-time to maximize the effectiveness of fertilizer and irrigation.

Use machine state data such as hours operating or production throughput within Materials Requirements Planning or Energy Resource Planning (MRP or ERP) solutions to allocate resources and improve operational efficiency.

Use machine health data such as vibration characteristic changes to forecast failures before they happen to limit downtime and increase efficiency.

Trace produce health (gas emissions) and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, shock) during transport. Recover lost product revenue due to poor transportation and environmental conditions. Fix transportation problems to reduce loss or recover financial damages by proving to shippers that damage occurred during shipping

Connect legacy systems to local networks or the cloud to support remote monitoring and control. Connectible legacy devices include PLCs, SCADA RTUs, panel controllers and many others. “Retrofit” IoT functionality to older systems and give them the advantages of newer connected systems and avoid the very costly alternative of equipment replacement.

Transfer or synchronize sensed data to all popular IoT cloud services like Amazon AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, & Google Cloud Platform to support cloud data processing and analysis.

Select device connections that match your priorities: industrial-grade 300m wireless for simplicity or fast plug-and-play wired connections for bullet-proof communications.

Acquire Virtually Any
Kind of Physical Data Using xTAG Sensors

Install xTAG BLE wireless sensors or xTAG USB wired sensors to sense physical data. Next, install an xGATEWAY and connect xTAGs to it. Finally, configure the xGATEWAY to push data to a local network data repository or the cloud. These simple steps are all that are required to meet the technical challenge faced by many operators of legacy equipment - to move data into a local data repository or the cloud where it can be analyzed and is valuable. Current xTAG Sensors and those in development include:

  • 3D Vibration
  • 3D Angle
  • Environmental (Temperature, Pressure and Humidity)
  • Carbon Dioxide or CO2 (measures the concentration of human breath in public spaces ensuring adequate ventilation to inhibit virus transfer)
  • Gas (Any Volatile Organic Compound or VOC and any Volatile Sulphur Compound or VSC)

Connect xTAG Sensors to The Cloud

For full time and immediate acquisition of xTAG Sensor, install an xGATEWAY platform near xTAG Sensors. The xGATEWAYs can leverage existing facility internet connections via Ethernet or Wi-Fi or they can connect to the cloud using LTE.

xTAG USB Sensors, low-power xTAG BLE Sensors and long range xTAG HaLow Sensors support plug-n-play communications with xGATEWAYs. xGATEWAYs can process sensor data as IoT Edge devices for local alarming or reporting or they can process sensor data as IoT Gateways and push it up to the cloud for centralized processing, alarming and reporting.

Details on xGATEWAYs can be found

xGATEWAY

Simple cloud-connectivity for routine acquisition of xTAG Sensor data is supported by the xTAG Explorer app. Run this app when near xTAGs with an internet connection (cell data or Wi-Fi) and select the Cloud-Sync option to retrieve selected xTAG data and push it into the cloud. No IoT Gateway installation is required dramatically reducing xTAG Sensor deployment costs and installation time.

The xTAG Explorer app supports xTAG BLE Sensors and includes the ability to view acquired sensor data in real time within detailed charting screens.

Add Industrial IoT
Connections to Existing Equipment

xGATEWAYs can read data from industrial devices that have been installed and running for decades. Many industrial or manufacturing devices were installed long before IoT became feasible, and these devices are already collecting valuable data and support simple serial interfaces for communications. Examples include panel mount controllers, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), drive systems, burner management systems, packaging systems ... 1000's of device types.

Equipment that is IoT-connected can be monitored more effectively to reduce downtime, support measuring product throughput to empower resource planning, and in some cases remotely controlled to facilitate better operational control and efficiency.

Monitor, Analyze,
Alarm and Report within The Cloud

Once xTAG data enters the cloud, it becomes very valuable. xTAG meta data can be used to monitor xTAG Sensor health to ensure that each xTAG is functioning and acquiring data. Acquired physical data can be analyzed to improve operational efficiency and product quality. If xTAG Sensor health (e.g. low battery) or physical data levels demand attention, alarms can be triggered via text or email messages. Cloud reporting (including physical data charts) gives operators a clean and simple view into their most valuable operational parameters. This ensures that operators can better manage their process, forecast machine faults, minimize downtime and maximize profits.
